Dr. Tan treats each patient with the same consideration and respect that she would have for her own family. There is no pressure or obligations. Dr. Tan graduated from the University of Toronto Dental School in 2002 with distinction. At graduation, she was recipient of the Ontario Dental Association Proficiency Award, the Eaton Award for Excellence, and the Gordon Cressy Student Leadership Award. She was also inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Dental Society and the Golden Key International Honour Society.

After dental school, Dr. Tan went on to complete a General Practice Residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio where she learned how to diagnose and treat complex esthetic cases. She then completed her Postgraduate Orthodontic Specialty Residency and her Masters degree, also at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.

Because Dr. Tan understands that acheiving a spectacular smile sometimes involves more than just having straight teeth, she is committed to staying current with new dental technologies and information so that she can best advise her patients on how to get the smile they envision. She has completed many continuing educational classes, not only in orthodontics but also in esthetic dentistry. In fact, she is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry and is working towards completing her Fellowship status, a distinction which less than 10% of all dentists, and even fewer specialists, hold.

Dr. Tan is also a member of the American Dental Association, the American Association of Orthodontics, the American Board of Orthodontics and the American Dental Education Association. Dr. Tan is Board Certified with the American Board of Orthodontics.
